Commercial Photography

Local company, Modern Beekeeping, recently commissioned Bangwallop to produce a range of product photography for their website and advertising. The brief included photographing Modern Beekeeping’s range of products in the studio, as well two shoots with models to show the range of protective clothing. The first advert using the new images goes out next month on the back cover of ‘Bee Craft’ magazine, and feedback has already been very positive. The production manager at ‘Bee Craft’ commented,

‘I have downloaded the mono pic from Modern Beekeeping and it is a CORKER!  It will really bring some class to Bee Craft opposite the run-of-the-mill ads’

The new photography will be used to update the product shots on www.modernbeekeeping.co.uk and provide a consistent image for the company across all their advertising.

Portrait Photography Course

Friday, January 29th, 2010

_mg_4878We held another highly successful Portrait Photography Course on Saturday 23rd January at bangwallop studios. The course was designed around learning how to work with a model and the challenges of directing your subject to achieve the best results.

The group were given expert instruction on composition, lighting, expression and other basic tricks and pointers to make their portrait photography come alive!

Our morning session involved a group shoot on the beach with our beautiful model Kate, giving the students an opportunity to work one to one and also more reportage style shots. Quick trip back on the ferry for a well deserved lunch and then the guys got to grips with ’styling’ the model for the afternoon session in the studio, they all seemed to grasp their inner fashionista pretty quickly and had Kate accessorised and ready in no time. We ran through some basic studio flash lighting techniques and then each student got an opportunity to work with Kate to produce some fantastic studio based images. A quick instruction on Adobe Lightroom and critique and we were done! Phew!

They guys all got to select their favourite image from the day which was printed for them to take away. Here are a selection of the students images, let me know what you think, I think they did really well!

The Bangwallop Casting Day - 9th January

iles-033a

We are looking for models, men and women from 16- 25. As part of a drive to find more models to include in its extensive commercial work, Bangwallop, a photographic venue in Salcombe, is opening its doors on the 9th January to find the region’s next Kate Moss or Lily Cole.

We regularly undertake commercial and fashion shoots so we are always on the lookout for new faces. By organising this casting day we are able to give local people the chance to have their photo taken by a professional photographer and find out more about the world of professional modeling.

Bangwallop will open the doors to its potential models at 9.00am on 9th January. Each person will receive a ticket, ensuring everyone is seen in the order they arrive. A test shot and your details will be taken by a member of the Bangwallop team. Your details will be kept on file for future work. Bangwallop have a number of regular commercial clients in publishing and undertake fashion shoots for brochure and advertising work, and often hire models for the photography courses run at bangwallop.
